Chicago-based artist Michael Thompson creates unique works from found materials and vintage ephemera, best known for his split bamboo kite series initiated by the artist over a decade ago. This one-of-a-kind sculpture entitled "Basilisk" is a foray into more rigid materials, yet still relies on layered materials to create a landscape of texture. Comprised of paper-thin patinated metal disks connected at a central rod, the snake-like sculpture has a striking presence and has a fantastic rough, organic finish that adds fantastic texture to its surroundings, indoors or out.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
