Burden Bucket

This vintage water bucket conjures up images of water-bearing figures illustrated in painted scrolls. Beautifully aged with a warm patina, this Qing-dynasty bucket draws attention to the ingenuity of its manufacture, consisting of staves of cypress bound with iron rings. The handle's curves were hand shaped to make long, laden trips comfortable. Authentically rustic, the bucket adds lovely contrast to a formal garden or contemporary bath.
