Placed beside his inkpot and insktone, this 19th-century brush pot once held select calligraphy brushes in a scholar’s studio. Carved of burl and rosewood, the brush pot is simply designed with four beaded panels and an even coat of hand-applied lacquer. Years of use have given the lacquer finish a deep color and rich character.
