This round Burmese vessel was likely designed as hanging storage for everyday use. A thin core structure of wood and clay was then cloaked in black and red cinnabar lacquer for stability and decoration. The remarkably lightweight vessel is wonderful as a decorative vase or cachepot, its surface now richly aged from use.
