Set alongside the four treasures of the study - the calligraphy brush, ink, paper, and inkstone - a brush pot or scroll holder was a fixture on every traditional scholars' desk. Once used to hold calligraphy brushes, this early 20th century brush pot is shaped from a single block of fine-grained cypress (baimu). Polished with smooth sides and a rounded lip, the petite brush pot is undecorated to highlight the wood's beautiful grain and warm coloring.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
