Unglazed Storage Vessel

Charged with the humble task of storing dry goods, this tall earthenware jar has a graceful, tapered form and beautifully irregular unglazed surface. Contact with smoke during firing has given the vessel a gorgeous finish of neutral colors, from charred brown to earthy terracotta. The vessel has been left undecorated, its simple form patterned only by the brushed texture of its slip clay finish.
