Crackle Celadon Phoenix Tail Vase

Described in ancient Chinese texts as the “moon dyed with spring water,” celadon porcelains are prized for their well-proportioned forms and luminous blue-green glazes. This contemporary porcelain vase is coated in a pale celadon glaze with sheer translucency and a distinctive, crackled finish. With simple elegance and sloping curves, the large vase is a variation on the classic phoenix-tail form, or fengweizun, defined by high shoulders, narrow neck and a dramatic flared lip.
