Long ago, this elegant rosewood box was used by a Qing-dynasty lady to store her favorite pieces of jewelry, each drawer filled with jades, pearls, coral necklaces, and hair pins. The front is adorned with delicate floral mother-of-pearl inlay and small quadrilobe mirrors. The box opens to reveal a large rectangular mirror and several interior drawers of varying depths, all decorated with additional inlay. Fine brass hardware accents the exterior with rich patina and offers further opportunity for embellishment.

From the collection of Frances and Gary Comer.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
