This beautifully aged box dates to the mid-19th century and is comprised of finely woven bamboo and layer upon layer of black and red lacquer. The round box has a sculptural, tapered form, crafted with high shoulders, a constrained neck and a short footed base. Cutouts to the thick lacquer finish reveal the box's intricate woven construction, simulating inset panels. Cinnabar-red lacquer trims the edges and decorates the round lid with an abstract floral design.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
