Miniature Red Lacquer Hat Box

This petite cylindrical box is a miniature version of a Qing-dynasty official's hat box. As beautifully constructed as the full-size versions, this little box is finished with a layer of oxblood-red lacquered hide and a clover-form brass hinge. The box has the elongated form of a double hat box, used to store both a conical summer hat and a round winter cap. Dated to the 19th century, this adorable box makes for a fantastic gift or collector's item.
