Crafted in Shanxi province in the early 20th century, this wide, three-drawer chest was once used as a home altar for ancestor worship. The plank top surface is framed by everted ends and linked to the sides with decorative stepped spandrels. Designed for use atop a kang platform, the low chest has three narrow drawers once used for storing incense and other accessories. With its simple form and aged walnut construction, this tabletop altar is an elegant storage solution for a mantel or console table.

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
