A triumphant display of grandeur and craftsmanship, this monumental birdcage was once home to the pet bird of a Qing-dynasty aristocrat. Dated to the early 20th century, the cage was carefully assembled of thin bamboo rods into the shape of a towering three-tiered pagoda, finished with a dark brown stain and decorated with carved accents that imitate traditional architecture. A sinuous dragon appears in various carved elements throughout the cage, a symbol of power and good fortune. A fantastic collector's item, we love this birdcage as an unusual sculptural object or a new home for a feathered friend.

Due to its fragility, this item is only available via white glove delivery or local pickup.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
