Fire Jade Bi Disc

Jades have been cherished for thousands of years for their rich heritage, beauty, and rarity. Jade Bi discs have been found in the tombs of ancient Chinese emperors and aristocrats, but their true meaning is still unknown. Usually they are associated with heaven and, at times, thought to be conduits for communication with ancestors. This jade disc has been tinted a lustrous, deep red, similar to the rich color of oxblood glazes used in traditional Chinese ceramics. It is mounted on a custom steel stand.
