This colorful porcelain bowl dates to the mid-19th century and was originally used as a serving dish for ritual offerings, placed before a home altar and piled high with fruit, baked goods, and other foods. Shaped like an eight-petal flower, the dish features scalloped sides, a short footed base, and a bright blue interior glaze. The exterior is decorated with simple floral motifs, painted with expressive brushwork and colored by pastel enamels. The charming bowl looks lovely as a decorative centerpiece, vide-poche, or serving bowl.

Bowl has multiple cracks and significant repairs. Sold as is at $88.00. Final sale.
