These folk textiles are vintage embroidered envelope pouches made by Banjara weavers of Rajasthan, India. These small bags date to the early 20th century and were used for carrying tobacco, betel quid, or other small, loose objects. Each bag is densely embroidered in a range of colors and further decorated with tassels and shells. Beautiful examples of traditional folk textile art, the four pouches are set within a unique carved frame finished with black and gold paint.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
