This gilt-painted red lacquer cabinet may once have been given as part of a wedding dowry. It stands proudly with square corners and a top board which slightly extends beyond the frame. The doors are constructed with extended pivotal hinges. The side panels are strengthened with outside braces. The gilt paintings of butterflies represent love and longevity and have aged beautifully over time.
