A thick dark glaze clings to the smooth surface of this petite jar, lingering on imperfections and accentuating the subtle ridges of its tapered form. Crafted in the late 19th century, the wide-mouth jar was once used to store food in a Qing-dynasty kitchen, as evidenced by its interior glaze. Contrasted by an unfinished lip, the irregular glaze exhibits a rich range of tonal color and pitted wear that gives the pot fantastic character.

“I am particularly fond of PAGODA RED as we have known the family for so long. Betsy is a professional in every way and her intelligent taste comes from a long line of family knowledge in the arts. She and her team are the very best to work with and we find treasures with every visit!”
