Originally used to store foods or pickle vegetables in a provincial Chinese kitchen, this early 20th-century earthenware jar is coated inside and out with a matte brown glaze. The glaze drips down the sides and across the unfinished base, imparting wabi-sabi texture and revealing a subtle range of warm colors. Ideal today as a vase, planter or wine cooler, the glazed pot exemplifies the timeless appeal of handcrafted pottery, marked with firing imperfections and interruptions to the glaze that reveal the maker's hand.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
