As though slicked with oil, a blue-black glaze spills over the high shoulders and arched strap handles of this tapered kitchen vessel. The 19th-century ceramic jar was once used to prepare and store soy sauce in a Qing-dynasty kitchen, as evidenced by its interior glaze. With rich tonality, the lustrous dark glaze gives the jar a glassy appearance and drips beautifully over the unfinished round base.

“I am particularly fond of PAGODA RED as we have known the family for so long. Betsy is a professional in every way and her intelligent taste comes from a long line of family knowledge in the arts. She and her team are the very best to work with and we find treasures with every visit!”
