A dark, iridescent glaze clings to the angular shoulders of this petite jar, dripping down the densely textured sides in contrasting rivulets of navy blue and light brown. Crafted in the late 19th century, this wide-mouth jar with strap handles was once used to ferment and store vinegar in a Qing-dynasty kitchen, as evidenced by its interior glaze. Exposed at the base and lip, the vessel's glossy glaze exhibits a rich range of colors and catches the light beautifully.
