This lacquered serving tray dates to the early 20th century and exemplifies the refined style of Japanese tea ceremony objects. The tray is elevated by four corner legs that bow outwards slightly and flow seamlessly to the inset square top. A layer of bright red lacquer provides an even finish and accentuates the tray's simple silhouette.

Restoration to splits in lacquer finish. Minor losses throughout.

“I am particularly fond of PAGODA RED as we have known the family for so long. Betsy is a professional in every way and her intelligent taste comes from a long line of family knowledge in the arts. She and her team are the very best to work with and we find treasures with every visit!”
