The stools created by the Lobi people of Ghana and Burkina Faso are wonderfully simple in form. Each is traditionally carved from a single block of wood with minimal decorative elements. This low stool is carved in the form of a herd animal, with a rounded body and a protruding head and tail to double as stout handles. The stool's beautifully smoothed surface texture has become richly aged over years of use, and textured chisel notches add a sense of movement to this stoic sculptural object.

“Over the years, I’ve incorporated many pieces from PAGODA RED into my designs. Not only can they balance new furnishings (and often new construction) by feeling more established, but the pieces emanate a sense of rich history, often leaving you wondering where they were in a previous life. These beautiful pieces carefully hand-selected by the team at PAGODA RED, coupled with their unbelievable customer service, make them a must-have for any home.”
