Pieced bits of wood veneer create a beautifully executed marquetry design on this special table. The intricate geometric pattern acts as a frame for a square of burled wood. Highly valued for its swirling, freeform grain, burled wood is obtained from knobby tree growths that develop in response to stress and therefore exhibit abnormal graining. The burlwood panel has been carefully restored with pieced inlaid repairs, revealing the loving care taken to preserve the table over a century of use. The table’s simple style, subtly accented with streamlined hoof feet and a flowing apron, complement its intricate decoration.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
