With its textured and ribbed surface this hand-carved stone once ground grain and nuts at a Hebei province wind- or watermill. Over a hundred years old, the stone’s surface has worn down through use, leaving only a hint of its original texture. A polished top adds contrast and provides a smooth surface for a potted plant in quiet corner of the garden.
