This exquisitely sculpted figure is the head of an Arhat, a Buddhist devotee who has attained enlightenment, sometimes called a “Luohan.” There are eighteen original Arhat - all of whom were disciples of Buddha - and since then, hundreds more followers have reached this exalted state. It’s rare to see a Ming dynasty (1368–1644) sancai glazed ceramic sculpture of this size and quality. We love this piece and are so happy to be able to offer such a unique item.
