This monumental stone deity head was inspired by the powerful figures that guard the ancient city of Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Khmer Empire in present-day Cambodia. To enter the temple complex, visitors must cross a bridge lined with 54 gods (devas) and 54 demons (asuras), representing the balance of dueling forces at the root of all life.

Recently sculpted by traditional artists in Cambodia, this stone bust depicts a heavenly deva, carved of solid stone with a serene expression and an intricate, low relief headdress. Set on a custom plinth, the larger-than-life protector commands its surroundings with awe-inspiring scale and captivating beauty.

Pedestals: 24"W x 24"D x 55"H
