Narrow Noodle Cabinet

A master craftsman from China’s Hebei province designed and built this cabinet over a hundred years ago. The proportions and finish were modified more recently by our team of classically trained Chinese artisans. The simple, clean lines sweep upward at a slightly tapered angle giving the cabinet an overall lighter form. Wood peeking through the countless coats of hand applied lacquer provide a grounded counterbalance to the lightness of the form. Centuries of use express history and character. The rounded moldings surrounding the frame resemble round shaped noodles, hence the name "noodle cabinet."
