Hand-carved from reclaimed wood, this rustic koi sculpture recreates early 20th-century Chinese folk art designs. The fish is carved with a squat, rounded body and painted with a colorful palette of blues and yellows. Common motifs in Chinese art, fish are emblems of harmony, wealth, and luck, and Buddhist symbols of "freedom from all restraints." Finished with a beautifully worn texture and set on a custom steel mount, this provincial koi looks wonderful on a bookcase or console as a tabletop sculpture.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
