Flowers, teakettles and incense burners, carved here in beautiful relief, were once the very items showcased on this pair of graceful Qing-dynasty table stands. Ornate in design, the graceful tables combine a square table top and curving cabriole legs ending in ball-and-claw feet. Sometimes called meiping tables, the stands replicate the meiping vase’s elegant, curvaceous profile. Paired together in an entryway or tucked next to an armchair or two, these tables enliven modern interiors with a bit of decorative detail and the rich color of the original oxblood lacquer finish.
