These antique French side cabinets, or meubles d'appui, are wonderful examples of the French Provincial and Louis XV styles. Dated to the late 18th century, the low cabinets are beautifully shaped with curvilinear forms throughout, from the curved top to the s-form legs. Each cabinet sits on four short cabriole legs ending in whorl feet and finished with a beaded edge that flows onto the scalloped apron. The two front doors are each carved with a delicate cartouche of quadrilobe shape and open to reveal a single interior shelf. The cabinet interiors are lined with paper patterned with green fleur-de-lis, now worn from age and use. Designed to sit at the end of a room, these charming French cabinets are the perfect place to display a fine vase or work of art.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
