Described by ancient Chinese as a “full moon dyed with spring water,” celadon ware has long been prized for its luminous transparency and delicate blue-green coloring. This petite celadon dish has a lovely, pale blue color and a simple silhouette, shaped of porcelain with flared sides and a short footed base. The small bowl was likely an everyday dish, possibly used for dining, taking tea or storing ink pastes or cosmetics.

Minor hairline crack to one side.
