This 19th-century presentation box is elevated with contemporary steel legs to form an unusual side table. The box is assembled from fragrant pine wood and cloaked in a layer of dark brown lacquer. Marking the lid is the fú (福) character for "good fortune," displayed during Chinese New Years as a blessing for good luck and prosperity. Originally used for presenting New Year's gifts, the box is now an elegant hiding place for household clutter.
