Outlined by a simple, blue-green frame, a delicate painted panel of peony blossoms adorns the front doors of this early 20th century chest from Mongolia. Emblems of spring time and feminine beauty, the peonies are joined by a graceful pheasant, a regal motif in Chinese art that further's the chest's blessings of beauty and good fortune. Originally opening from the top, the cabinet has been reconfigured with doors outfitted with traditional hinges and brass teardrop pulls. The chest's muted turquoise finish has aged beautifully, adding rich character and color to the home.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
