Once used on a provincial Chinese farm to hold water or animal feed, this 19th-century stone trough is celebrated today for its organic form and rustic authenticity. The low trough is hand-carved from solid granite to a rounded, full-moon shape, weathered from years of use for a smooth, timeworn texture and appealing asymmetry. A drainage hole is drilled into the base, making the trough ideal today as a statement garden planter, water feature or sink basin.
