Basket-making is an ancient and humble craft, but in the hands of a skilled weaver a simple willow basket becomes a truly beautiful statement. This antique fisherman's basket is masterfully woven of flexible reeds and trimmed with a band of bent wood at the opening. Dated to the early 20th century, the basket was later painted to a matte red finish. Today, we love it for magazines, wastepaper, or anything you want stored beautifully.
