This shallow Elmwood table was made over a century ago in Northern China. Long, narrow tables like this were originally designed to hold a musician’s musical instruments or display a scholar’s painted scrolls. It has a classic, timeless appeal but several details make it particularly beautiful: the table is beautifully proportioned with a classic, simple frame and a lovely red lacquer finish that has gained patina and character with age.

“I am particularly fond of PAGODA RED as we have known the family for so long. Betsy is a professional in every way and her intelligent taste comes from a long line of family knowledge in the arts. She and her team are the very best to work with and we find treasures with every visit!”
