Known as hka-lauk, these petite Burmese bells were used to track the movement of livestock, strung from a collar by the two loops at the top. Dated to the 19th century, the bells were cast of bronze using the lost wax method with a traditional pattern of flowering stems within rectangular frames. Displayed on custom steel mounts, we’ve elevated these storied functional objects into small works of sculpture.
