Originally used for pickling foods, this monumental early 20th century vessel is coated inside and out with a dark glaze. Subtle ridges at the base suggest that the jar was fashioned by coiling flattened ropes of clay into the desired shape. Featuring an unglazed rim and speckled with imperfections, this large pot exemplifies the timeless appeal of handcrafted pottery and is a wonderful option as a planter or centerpiece vessel.
