Standing Figure of a Buddhist Monk

The artisan who carved and painted this unique statue managed to portray him with a sense of peace and serenity. This figure is a standing Buddhist monk with hands clasped in prayer. He was carved over 400 years ago during the Ming Dynasty: a period of change and reform in Chinese Buddhism.
