Petite Stone Trough

Once used on a provincial Chinese farm to hold water or animal feed, this early 19th-century stone trough is celebrated today for its organic form and rustic authenticity. The trough is hand-carved from solid limestone with a rectangular form, rounded corners and a deep interior basin. The chiseled surface of the stone has weathered with time, developing subtle asymmetry and color variation. Drilled with a 1" drainage hole, this petite water trough is ideal as a garden planter, a decorative water feature, or a stone sink basin, just the right size for washing hands in a small powder room.
