Made of humble pine, this gorgeous Tibetan trunk nevertheless impresses with perfect proportions and a timeless, minimal design. The trunk dates to the late 19th century, a period that saw a distinctive style of medium-sized chests finished with hide and ironwork. This particular trunk features its original yak hide exterior, secured by original iron hardware and decorated with a spotted fur insert on the front. The trunk remains in fantastic condition, a testament to the skill and meticulous attention to detail of the craftsperson. Still a vital storage piece today, the chest tells the story of its past with a rich, dark patina.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
