Tortoise Shell Meditation Stone

Sourced from Guangxi province, this round stone looks just like the shell of a tortoise, a traditional emblem of longevity. The unusual stone was formed by the cracking of sedimentary stones, which was then filled by deposits of another mineral. The result is an irregular pattern that recalls the crazed finish of ru ware pottery. Polished to accentuate the naturally rounded form, this tortoise shell meditation stone is wonderful as a tabletop sculpture or centerpiece.
