This petite 19th-century chest supports a narrow table top framed by simple spandrels. Supported by straight legs, the cabinet's paneled front is fitted with two shallow drawers and a subtly cusped apron. A dark layer of black lacquer coats the exterior, beautifully worn around the edges. We love this small chest as a bedside nightstand or placed in a hallway as a console table.
