Dating from around 1400 during the first decades of the Ming dynasty, this set of imposing limestone doors may have secured the burial site of an ancient nobleman. Marked by awe-inspiring austerity, one side of the doors is sparsely decorated with carved, ornamented lintels and door handles, while the opposite sides each bear the relief likeness of an immortal. Characters etched into the stone express the idea of immortality in the description of energy's pervasive nature, a force that cannot be contained.

The doors are mounted on a custom steel stand. Dimensions listed describe the doors as a pair.
