This stone charm is well over 200 years old and has developed a lovely patina with age. The whimsical figure has an interesting past: a parent once used it as a weight which they’d attach to their baby to make sure it wouldn’t roll out of bed. The figure may be a tiger: they were considered to be protectors in Chinese culture and mothers often surrounded children with tiger imagery to keep them safe.
