Hand-carved from reclaimed wood, these rustic fish sculptures recreate early 20th-century Chinese folk art designs. Each fish is painted with colorful pigments and finished with a beautifully worn texture. Common motifs in Chinese art, fish are emblems of harmony, wealth, and luck, and Buddhist symbols of "freedom from all restraints." Set on custom steel mounts, these provincial koi look wonderful on a bookcase or console as charming tabletop sculptures.
