Provincial Grain Shovel

Now cloaked in a rich patina, this provincial shovel was hand-carved of cypress over a century ago in China's Shanxi province. Originally a versatile tool on a Qing-dynasty farm, we've re-imagined the shovel as a sculptural object, adding irregular form and textural contrast to the modern home.
