This finely crafted 19th century ink stone was carved by hand in China during the Qing Dynasty. An artist would have used this stone to mix the ink for his work. Traditional Chinese ink starts out as a solid stick or cake, which would be ground in the flat tray of this stone and then mixed with water. This ink stone has aged with a beautiful texture over time and calls to be touched.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
