Cast Iron Tea Pot

This round sculptural iron teapot was cast in Northern China during the late Qing Dynasty. Earlier teapots were generally large, but connoisseurs eventually discovered that smaller pots, like this one, hold the aroma of tea better and stop the beverage from turning bitter due to over steeping.
