Chrysanthemum stones, formed hundreds of millions of years ago, are appreciated for their naturally occurring celestine crystals, which resemble chrysanthemum blossoms. Artisans near Qinghai, China carved this specimen to add dimension. Chrysanthemums represent autumn, endurance, and long life, making this stone symbolic as well as sculptural. It is best to appreciate chrysanthemum stones indoors, as the black field of the rock is a soft shale-like material and will chip if kept outdoors in extreme, particularly icy, conditions.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
